Turning a Channel List Into a Service People Browse and Subscribe To
YourHouse TV gives households access to networks, channels, and cities in one place. The content was the product, but the front end presented it as directories — channel lists, city lists, network lists — rather than as something to explore. We rebuilt it around discovery and reassurance, so a prospective subscriber can see what they would actually be getting before they commit.

The Client
YourHouse TV operates an entertainment service organised around the networks, channels, and cities available to a subscriber, alongside editorial content in the form of guides and blogs. The audience compares services before subscribing, often on a TV screen or a phone in a living room, and the decision hinges on perceived value: how much is included, and how easy is it to find out.
The Challenge
The service had breadth but presented it as a filing cabinet. Each section was a list, and nothing helped a visitor understand the size of the offering or what they would actually be able to watch. That made value hard to judge and easy to lose to a competitor with a simpler pitch.
Directories Instead of Discovery
Networks, cities, and channels were rendered as flat lists. A visitor with no specific target had no way to explore, so they bounced without forming a view of the service.
Value Was Impossible to Judge
Nothing communicated the scale of the offering up front. Someone weighing a subscription could not tell what they would get for their money without already using it.
Channel Overload
Large channel counts are a selling point and a usability problem. Presented as raw numbers and lists, they created a bad first impression rather than a compelling one.
Living-Room Screen Misunderstood
The experience was designed around a desktop viewport while the decision usually happens on a television or a large screen across the room, where dense layouts fall apart.
Content Had No Home
Editorial guides and blogs existed but did little work. They were not connected to the browsing experience, so they contributed nothing to conversion.
The Solution
We rebuilt the front end around exploring and evaluating: browse surfaces for networks, channels, and cities that show scale at a glance, a value story a visitor can understand before subscribing, and a living-room-first layout that works on a television at viewing distance.
Our Approach: We treated the front page as a value conversation rather than a directory, because a subscriber decides on perceived inclusion before they decide on channel numbers. That shifted the design emphasis toward presenting breadth clearly and attractively. Layout work targeted large-screen legibility, since the primary context is a television several feet away, and editorial content was wired into the browse flow so it supports the same decision.
